The F-Gas category 4 course is the minimum legal F-Gas qualification required by all RACHP operatives who carry out leak checking on systems containing Fluorinated Gas or Ozone Depleting Substances, and who report refrigerant leaks for investigation and repair by a suitably qualified (category 1) technician.
For those newer to the industry who require the skills and knowledge to carry out routine leak tests on RACHP equipment.
This 1-day course only covers a brief overview prior to the leak checking assessment, so a basic understanding of the principles of refrigeration and maintenance techniques is expected. This can be taken as part of our 3-day Maintenance and Leak Testing course which provides further training prior to the assessment.
Objective
To achieve the skills and knowledge necessary to obtain the City and Guilds 2079 (F Gas) Category 4 qualification in Leak Testing.
Methodology
The topics will be covered with a mixture of practical observation and practical work by the candidate using fully operational systems. Theoretical work will be assisted by the use of good quality visual aids and discussion sessions.
The assessment will comprise of a practical test demonstrating the skills listed below and an on-line, multiple choice question paper for the theory.
